More About the Author

Alexandra Jones was born in India of British parents in the Colonial Service during the last days of the Raj and the subsequent Independence of India and Pakistan. Initially she wrote prize-winning short stories, then turned to full-length fiction with her splendid historical novels, Mandalay, Samsara, Fire Pheasant, Face To The Sun and Glengath.

In Germany, Der Zauber des Sommers (The Abbot of the Island presently not in the English language) reached the best-selling list. The story is set in the Scilly Isles during 1942.

Alexandra lives a busy life in Kent and belongs to many literary and art groups in her area. At present she is working on two more historical novels under contract as well as writing children’s fiction.
